Hi, I'm new here!
I have a large metal cage, it is four levels tall. I have two male chins.
I have struggled to find interesting items to put in the cage. They often seem bored and are definitely not getting adequate exercise because we no longer have a wheel. (I received these chins from an owner that really knew nothing about them. The wheel just wasn't sturdy enough for this large of a critter and it eventually snapped on the base, we need a replacement.)

I cover the bottom in wood shavings. They have a plastic dust house that hooks on the inside of the cage, we give them dust every few days. Between one of the top levels I have two wooden platforms bolted in. I attempted to make them a hammock...which they never really liked. They have a large wooden sleep house but prefer to sleep at the top of the cage of course (where it will not fit.) Water bottle and food/hay dish of course. They get a treat a few times a week and whatever toys I have on hand.
Toys are hard for us to find in local stores. Plain wood sticks, pinecones, and sometimes wood blocks on a chain is about it!

Our local stores just...stink for chin supplies apparently. We can get the regular hay, pellets, shavings, and dust but not much else.
Where do you order reasonable priced supplies from online?
What are your favorite MUST HAVES for your chin cages?
Best wheel recommendations?
Favorite toys and accessories?

I would check out the suppliers that advertise through the forum. I buy from Chin Chic in the states (more for fleece and ledges rather than toys) and for all my toy supplies I buy from Zoey and Lilo's Toybox (which I find to be very reasonably priced) in Canada. I then use the toy supplies I buy to build my own toys to make sure that my chins have lots to chomp on to wear down their teeth.

For a wheel I have a flying saucer, but chin spins are also fantastic. Make sure to avoid leaving anything plastic in the cage.

Also, there are TONS of threads on this topic on the forum, so spend some time searching around and you will find innumerable ideas.

There is a lot you can do to make cages more fun. You can buy items or if you are skilled enoughyou can build your own. Wooden ledges are a great place to start. I get pine boards and make shelves eveywhere. Hammocks are great as well. Chin spins and flying sausers are the best wheels ive found. Get creative with your cage.
