Hey everyone!

Yesterday my chins entered their new, 3 level Ferret Nation cage. They used to live in a 24" by 17" by 42" tall cage.

I know that when you first bring a chin home or when you move, you are supposed to leave you chins alone and give them time to adjust to the change. But do you also need to give them time to adjust to a new cage?

My chins seem to be adapting well to the cage- it's in the same spot as their old one. They may not like it as much because they seem to have some separation anxiety issues. If Orville is at the top of the cage and Wally is at the bottom, Wally gets scared and makes this sad cooing noise until he finds Orville.

Anyway, what do you all think?

if they are settling into the new cage nicely then i see no reason to change anything about your chin schedule (playtimes, hanging out with them, etc).

when i moved Rhino to his bigger cage i didn't do anything different. he hardly batted an eyelash at all the added space. his new cage went into the same spot as the old too.

I have found some chins can stress, some act like nothing happened but all got over it in 4-5 days. Make sure they are eating and drinking.
