I recently adopted a nine-month old beige who was left in a box outside a veterinary clinic in Napa, CA. He was missing a hind leg, but the woman at the rescue facility wasn't sure if he had been born without it, or had suffered an accident. One of his ears and the tip of his nose do show some scarring, so it may be possible that he was in a fight with another animal.
In any event, Dash, my lovely little tripod, is still very active. He loves running on his wheel, climbing all over me, and seems to actually have better balance than my other rescued chin that still has all four limbs. My question though is for anyone who may have ever cared for a three-legged chin--Are there any health issues or considerations that I need to be aware of in caring for him?
Thanks!
