Hello I don't know if this would be consider an emergency or not but I'm not completely sure what I should do.

I have a mother chin with 3 babies, they are 6 weeks old this Sunday
She somehow escaped from the baby proof cage I have them in and I believe one of my cats tried to play with her. I found her hiding under one of my other cages and some blood on her left side.

Once I cleaned her up it looks like a single puncture wound above her left arm.
Which she then is holding up and limping.

She is still acting fine just a little shaken up but I was wondering if it's fine to use peroxide to clean the blood up and not harm her.

Also I was wondering if I should keep the babies away from her for the night or if doing that would cause more stress on her that is unneeded.

I am calling the vets in the morning to get an appointment to get her looked at but I'd also appreciate some advice on if I should keep her with her babies or not. .
Thank you.

Our cat scratched Oscar once and the vet said to clean it thoroughly. Our vet said to keep a close eye on it to make sure that it does not get infected. Personally I would clean it and keep a really close eye on it and if there is any redness or swelling go to the vet immediately. We used hydrogen peroxide to clean the wound but I am not so experienced so I could be wrong. I also think you'd want the babies to be with mom so they can nurse but again I am not totally sure so I would keep a close eye on her if you do. Oscar healed fine and never had to go to the vet although we did do a well pet check soon after so the vet could see him healthy.

I had to wean kits once a couple days shy of being 6 weeks old and they were fine. If mom seems to be in pain I would be leary of letting the kits back in with her. If her injury doesn't seem too bad I would try it and see how she reacts to them. If you have some Blu-Kote I would put that on her wound.

Peroxide is bad for deep wounds, if it is a superficial cut it should be ok to use. Also, don't put human antiseptic creams on it like neosporin. Deep cut would be safer to rinse over using peroxide as peroxide and deep cuts are a no no. If it doesn't seem to bother her much or if its small I don't think the kits would hurt her. If it is a large wound I would keep her separate. GL.

Peroxide should only be used in a 50/50 mix with some kind of purified water. Peroxide causes necrotizing (death) of tissue. If you need to clean it, use Betadine instead. Also, while you can use neosporin on a wound, it should not contain a numbing agent and you also need to be sure the wound is completely clean. Putting a gel type of antibiotic cream on it will seal in any germs that haven't been cleaned out.

Thank you everyone for your advice. . She is doing great, The wound is healing without issue and the babies are not bugging it what so ever. . =)
