i am not a very experienced chinchilla owner, nor do i have the patience to meander through hundreds of threads, let alone figure out how to navigate the sight...so, i was wondering if some of you well experienced and intelligent people would be able to give me advice on a daily schedule, or even things i should do every couple of weeks so that my chinny will be happy. she is veeeery fluffy and sweet, and i have all the funds necessary to pamper her, as i hope to do. so, before posting something, please realize your advice will be strongly considered, and could be possibly harmful to the chinchilla if it's wrong.

- please reply. thanks very much for your advice

It's a shame you're not willing to do some of the research on your own on the pet that you brought into your home. We can all regurgitate information to you, but you will learn a lot more by reading and putting at least a little work into it.

Also, we aren't in the habit of giving out crap information on this site, and if someone does they are quickly corrected. We realize that many more people than just you come here to research the care of their chins. We don't let bad information stand.

That aside, I would at least suggest you read through the new chin owner section. There is plenty of good information there for the new chin owner.

for what it is worth, I am fairly new to the site and a fairly new chin parent (though my wife is a wily chin veteran...) and I have found this forum to be amazingly informative - but the key to that is being willing to invest a little bit of my time into getting the information... in the long run, if you want to spoil your furkid and make sure she is both happy and HEALTHY, it is WELL WORTH the time to do the research...

four quick items come to mind -
1) take a look at the new chin owners section - good stuff about basics there...
2) may want to visit chinnation.com also - good basic info/ overview for new chin parents
3) give the crew here some info to work with - how old is your chin, how long have you had her, what kind of cage is she in, how is the cage set up, what type of food is she eating, what kind of treats is she getting, what toys/ chews does she have... pix help, too, lol...
4) on subsequent site visits, unless I am looking for info on something specific (search button at top right of page works like a champ...) I generally peruse new posts and continue to build (hopefully!) my knowledge base - as I understand it, chins are long term (12-15 years average) commitment, so I had best get comfortable...

hope some of this helps and welcome to the forum!

I totally agree with dcfluegel.... a little info about your chin and what you are doing now would help very much. I have had my chins for just over a year and a half and I still learn new stuff on here each time I log on. I am continually trying to improve my chins lives! :)
