The 6 year old I rescued has some missing fur..... Will it eventually grow back?

Most likely. Did you check to make sure the fur loss isn't caused by fungus?

It will probably grow back, but you definitely need to find out the cause of the missing fur. Is it a fur slip? Does the skin look pink and scaley?

The fur is there but very short. The skin is fine. I was told he got wet. Supposedly there was time spent drying him. And it happened 4 months ago.

why would he lose fur from getting wet?
as long as there's no scales or red/pink color it should be ok i would just keep an eye on it. it does take a good amount of time for fur to grow back though.

So, When my friend decided to give him to me because her husband was neglecting and abusing him, he was nervous and chewed it? He also had a terrible metal wheel that was too small and poked his sides when he ran. I think that ripped his fur off, i've replaced it with a 15 inch silent spinner! The fur will grow back though?

The fur will grow back if it's from chewing unless the chin continues to chew it. Did you mean ChinSpin? Silent Spinners are plastic crappy wheels that can pose a threat to your chin. They have come off the post and fallen on top of many chins trapping them beneath...

Why don't you post some pics of the spot? And your wheel so we can be sure what kind it is... I find it pretty unlikely a wheel "ripped" his fur off, though.
