Bella is adorable! I am sure she is feeling better and will warm up a bit as she becomes more comfortable in your home. If I didn't have cats, I would love to have a bunny running around my home!
We tried cohabiting with bun and cat when I was in my early teens.. and the poor cat got beat up and bullied on a daily basis! She couldn't even use her own litter box cuz Bugs (original, right?) claimed both for himself!
Our beloved Aneesa passed almost 3 years ago, and we don't have another kitteh.. but Bella still won't have free range of the house. Buns are DESTRUCTO SUPREMO ..and we kind of like our book lined walls and other irresistable bunny adventures.
Very pretty, just be careful of having Ms. Bell around the chins, as buns(like cats) can carry pastuerella (I think that's the right bacteria) which can be fatal to chinnies.
I miss having a bunny, and would love to have a flemish giant, but Keith's allergic to buns, so that'll be a no-go for us!
Aminah, you know I fully 100% respect you and like you! I'm just thinking out for the wellbeing of the furbabies when aying this, but most vets don't test for pasturella, because it's something that bunnies naturally carry, just like cats. It's nothing that effects them. And also, many times test for it come up negative even when the animal carries it. There was a huge thing on CnQ about it, because of people wanting to know if buns/chins could live together in a cage/share play area/etc. Shame we can't find it
Ash.. I'm not sure what liking me and respecting me have to do with Bella seeing two very qualified Vets, before coming into the rabbit rescue or my home. I appreciate the concern, though.
Unlike some, I am very cautious about presenting unnecessary risks to my "kids". That is precisely why everyone that comes here, sees my Exotics Vet and/or is quarantined properly.
I love rabbits and this one is an absolute cutie. Is she a rex of some sort? Her fur seems curly-ish rather than smooth and flat. I love her little face.
