Hi everyone,
I am looking at getting a wheel for my beautiful girls Anya and Sofia, I am stuck between the Leo Braun style wheel and the Metal flying saucer,

I have attached a pic of my cage the xtrail little zoo, what are peoples thoughts on my cage holding upto the weight of either wheel,

would I need to reinforce the cage with something?

and are they going to be very noisy?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Your cage looks pretty sturdy for either. I have the metal flying saucers in both of my chinchilla cages and they can be pretty loud at times - but I think it's more my cage than the wheel itself.

One thing to think about is that the saucer sits on an arm that extends out under the wheel. You could stick a block of wood under the arm for additional support if you needed to. Otherwise, the Leo wheel looks like it attaches pretty solidly to the cage and probably wouldn't need any additional support.

I have a flying saucer for my boys and their cage is right next to bedroom door. I've never had the noise of the wheel wake me up and found it to be quite quiet.

I have saucers, Chin Spins and Silver Surfers. My only complaint with the saucer is that they do take up more cage space than a wheel. I think either would work fine though!

Just make sure the saucer is secured to the cage correctly. Most noise will come from it bouncing off the cage.

thanks everyone for the replies, they are helping me make a decision (which I am really struggling with!)
I love the look of the metal flying saucer, but I am leaning towards the Leo Braun, just because I think it takes up less space and I have a feeling it won't make the cage shake as much (I could be wrong on that) although chinmama's idea of using a block of wood under the flying saucer could sort that,
I can't get the Leo Braun in the UK, I would have to order it from the chinnie shop and shipping is about as much as the wheel! I may have to toss a coin to make a final decision!
