Chinzilla

Hey all - I am a relatively new chin owner and I thought being a part of a forum would be a good idea if I need advice or just want to show off my babies =)
My husband and I bought our first chin in September 2008 from a pet store. In hindsight, I would have bought from a breeder...but she's healthy and becoming more and more willing to be handled every day. Originally I was told she was a male and named her Chinzilla. After bringing her home I realized she was a female. We generally call her Chinzi, Chinz or Chinzers. She is a beautiful mosiac and approximately 11 months old.
We adopted another female chinnie about a week ago. She is a 4 month old **** beige and we named her Chiquita. She is adorable and soooooo sweet. Strangely, she seems to be diurnal instead of nocturnal - she is very awake all day and after running around in the early evening she will even fall asleep in my lap while I watch tv at night, and then she continues resting much of the evening/night. For now, they are in separate cages and even separate rooms as Chiquita gets used to us and her new environment before being introduced to Chinzi (hopefully they get along!!!).
Enjoy the pictures!
