Male Chinny - Squeaking Noises?

Whenever I take my ebony male chinny out, he makes a small chirping/squeaking noise when he runs around, it is almost barely noticeable.
What does this mean?

(He is caged with another male, they get along fine but they do not cling to each other, so I don't believe that it is because he wants his friend out too.)

My chin talks too, my fiance can barely hear it because its so little but I can hear him all the time! He does it for attention, and because he's happy. He knows that if he talks to me I'll come over and say hi. It might be weird but I talk to him back in squeaks, hah! We must look so weird...

I squeak back at my chins, too. They will carry on as long as I choose to "talk" to them.
