When i got a female chinchilla (Chika) from a breeder, they were unaware she was pregnant, month later she had 2 kits (Mister, and Emo). I now have a female and male kit and i am wondering when i need to separate the two of them. They are now 2 months old and i don't want them to breed. I have done tons of research before i got my mother chinchilla, but never expected to have little ones. :)

Separate them now. Eight weeks is the max they should be allowed to share a cage when they are siblings.

They can breed as young as 10 wks, so you want to seperate them asap as they are approaching that age. I wean my babies at 7-9wks, depending on how big they are.....You should post pics :)
