So today I saw Leo cleaning himself a lot today, so I did my first ever hair ring check. He was clean thank god. But I noticed that his sacs were a little more swollen than usual, but I heard that this can happen, especially since I checked him in the middle of playtime.

Upon further inspection I noticed a bump on his one sac, about the size of an eraser on a pencil....I took the best picture I could.

Please help me I'm worried sick what could this be? he's still active and eating normally.

I'm not arguing tunes just wondering if testicles normally can bulge out like that ? I have never witnessed it and am just curious Incase I come across that one day .

I thought the larger oval sacs above it were the testicles.....also why is there only one? Aren't they normally pulled up inside the body?

I'm sorry if I'm overreacting.

Sorry thank you, I saw your post after the page refreshed from sending mine. Wouldn't they both descend though?

Both of the testes look descended in that picture, sometimes the tail of the epididymis might hide a little, if he's not fully aroused. I wouldn't worry about it, you'll probably see it another time!

ETA: he might not have the extra pocket of skin where the tail sticks out, and that's why you don't see it - you should be able to see it "deflated" if it is there. If it's not there, I still probably wouldn't worry.

Okay so I'm done freaking out, thanks to all for helping me. I don't know how I'm ever going to have an actual kid, if I stress out over the littlest things. I guess its better to notice everything and question it though, rather than not be observant at all.

Also, for future reference. What exactly are the testicles and what is the epididymis? I'm understanding it as the two symmetrical oval lumps are the testicles, and the bright red lump thing that I thought was a tumor is the tail of the epididymus....is this right?

Yep, you've got that right. The testes is the larger lump, the tail of the epididymis attaches to the testes and continues along one side of the testes into the abdomen.

Fun fact: testicle implies "tiny" testes, as in smaller than normal, diminutive. Your guy looks normal, so they would be "testes"

Thank you so much Sycamore!

All of my housemates think I'm an idiot right now....LOL
:neener:

Hahaha I know, I can see that already. Give it a week and I'll freak out about something else that will turn into yet another experience.

Sorry to be so late to the party, since you are talking about one of my favorite chinnie features, LPCBs!!! Often, when they are sitting on a shelf and relaxed they do hang down on both sides.

That's something I miss seeing since Mr. Whiskers and The Snuggler have both been neutered. However, Little Two Paws is still intact.

Haha I've poked around the threads enough to know your favorite term LPCBs. So glad I could give you another outlet to use it.

The other thing is, on rare occasions they might only have 1, or have 1 descend. A friend of mine had a chin with only one Testicle.

I have to say my one male chin has huge testicles...its frightening. Sometimes I feel like saying "hey put those away!" they are always descended....I do mean always
