I have become the MOM to a female white mosaic chin named Lenora. She is approximately 18 weeks old.

I never expected to have a chin in my life. This happened after I had purchased two hedgehogs about 9 months ago and was given incorrect info that males and females could be housed together if they were brother and sister. (I know DUMB on my part).

I ended up having to take care of two separate cages and two wheels one of which was very covered in poop on a daily basis. I decided to give the very poopy hedgehog back. I was offered a chinchilla as an alternative.

I chose a very tame girl from a litter of 3 white mosaic sisters. I am TOTALLY IN LOVE with her. She cuddled on me right in the store and has not been frightened of me for one moment. I have had a blast setting up her cage and putting together everything she needs.

Last night I happily took care of all my pets. My two chihuahuas, my chin and then my hedgehog. I had dog playtime early in the evening. Then I had chin play time after that. Once the chin was settled for the night with fresh water, food and hay I played with my hedgehog girl around 11:30 p.m.

Happy to have found a place where I can celebrate hedgehogs and chinchillas.

:welcome6: Sounds like you are in the right place, having a hedgie AND a chin :)

I am so glad to be here. I am going to do a lot of reading here today and then I have questions coming up about play time. So far I have not had an out of cage playtime.

Congrats on the new chinnie! I started off with one also. I got my Ash as a christmas present awhile ago. Now I have 16 : D

If you get the chance to honor us with some pictures, I'm sure we'd all love that!

Congrats on the new chin! She must be beautiful and how wonderful she has taken to you and her new surroundings so quickly. It sounds like you have quite the juggling act with all your animals, but it sounds like you're doing great and you have spoiled animals. The more, the better, I always say! Welcome to the forum :)

Hi Jenn, WELL my Lenora looks just like the Chin in your avatar!

I am in heaven that she has taken to me so quickly. I got her in the specialty pet store where I purchased one of my Chihuahuas, my Hedgehog and now my Chin. Even though it is a pet store it is privately run by a man who is very well known in the area and takes super duper care of all the animals he sells.

She was totally socialized by whoever bred her and was totally well cared for in the store. She has never been afraid of me for one second! In fact it is difficult for me to keep her in her cage sometimes.

I am totally in love!
