lots of fur! plz help

Everyday when I clean the cage ive been noticing a lot of fur around the cage, but theyre nor normally in clumps so I dont think its from chewing their fur. And theres no noticable fur missing when you just look at them. I started seeing an increase in the amount of hair left behind in the cage just a few months ago. Or do chinchillas just shed?

A lot of people seem to have chins shedding out their coats about now. One of mine looked horrible when we got him last month and now he's finally starting to look normal. He had lighter tufts sticking out everywhere.

Are your chinchillas housed together? They could be chasing each other when you're not around, causing fur slips. I would blow into their fur and look for scabs, and separate just in case before it escalates.
