My chin recently lost her tail (Tuesday). I took her to the vet and he had to take some bone out that was still sticking out. But she's been rubbing her face across the wooden platforms for the past day, what is that? Also I notice she's not eating as much as usual. I know the meds can affect appetite but it's been more than one night. The vet gave me a syringe, but how do I force feed her? It says 'mix softened pellets with warm pedialyte or Gatorade. I tried that but the food gets stuck in the syringe tip.

I have honestly no idea. I checked the whole inside of her cage to see if it could have gotten caught somewhere, and my other chin isn't close enough to reach.

First, no energy type drinks. Second, if you don't have any critical care, grind up the pellets very fine and add a small amount of plain canned pumpkin and some warm water so it's the consistency between apple sauce and a milkshake. Make sure you get plain pumpkin, not the pie mix with the spices and sugar added in. You don't have to add the pumpkin but the pellets and water will not stay mixed together as well without something to bind it.

Second, as far as the face rubbing, I had noticed that Chilli's eyes seem to get irritated when he gets his teeth filed. I assume it is from the gas mask for the anesthesia. Usually he is fine after a dust bath and a couple of days, but I would think yours probably can't have a bath right now. Her face may be irritated from the mask, just give her some time.
