Both my chins seem to be losing VERY SMALL amounts of hair, it's kind of like a dog shedding its coat for summer, or something. Is this normal? They're not fur chewing, or biting at it or anything...it's just kinda falling out. Within the last week the only changes have been that the mom had a kit and they were seperated.

Chins doe shed occasionally, it could be priming, where they get a new coat in, or mine just shed small bits on occasion. Does it just look like little bits of extra fur sticking out?

I own the chins with wombat, and yes, that is exactly what it looks like.

I tried combing my chin and didn't get much hair. But I see hair in her cage from where she has rubbed up against it. I'd assumed that it is normal to shed a bit.

I just noticed our chinchilla shedding more then normal as well! I see the hair around the cage. It sometimes looks like a few pieces of fur sticking out from the coat in clumps. Is that okay? Could it be a sign of illness or stress (he isn't fur biting and doesn't have any bald patches).

My chins have been shedding a lot recently too, and it all gets stuck in the AC unit we have in their room! I pull handfuls of fur from it each night!
