Hi my name is Lindsay, My husband and I owned Nature Coast Chinchillas in Florida. Well two years ago we had to sell our herd and moved in with my parents in North Carolina. It was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. Three months ago we moved to Montana for jobs. Anyway we were not planning on getting a chinchilla right now, but last week I found out about a chinchilla that was in need of some serious TLC so of course we adopted him and brought him home. :) He is around 4-5mo old and is a standard grey. We have named him Logan. It is such a joy to have a chinchilla in our home again.

Anyway just wanted to say Hi to everyone.

Hi Lindsay - Wow, talk about culture shock. From Florida to Montana?? How ya liking the weather up there this year?

Welcome to CnH and congrats on the new guy.

Welcome Lindsay, glad to have you here! Congratulations on your new addition!

Welcome Lindsay! Looks like your were meant to adopt this chin and give him a great home! I'm glad you could help him out. It must be quite the shock to move from Florida to Montana, but I would love to move to the mountainous area of Montana but with my husband's line of work, we'd have to be up close to the border and it's not quite so pretty there. I probably wouldn't deal well with the cold, either...Must be great for chins, though! What part of Montana are you in?

Best of luck to you and the little one and welcome!!!

Hopefully one day you can get back to where you once were with the chins:heart3:

Thanks everyone :) the weather was not to bad this winter I think the lowest was -19..lol I have spent alot of time in Maine so this is not a huge adjustment, I like the cold. We are located in Billings, MT and it is a bit of a culture shock. No one speaks southern, they think I talk funny.

Well since getting this one chinchilla my husband is already starting to talk about getting a pair or two, but most the breeders I know are on the other side of the country. I would love to be back in chinchillas like we used to be. I miss everyone and all the shows. I will get some pictures of Logan tomorrow, poor little guy has some fur fungus that he is getting over. It is on his nose and feet but he is such a trooper.
