What's everyone use for litter? My girls have fleece lined cage with 2 litter pans. I've been using Carefresh Litter Plus but can't seem to find it anymore. I was going to switch to the regular Carefresh (the brownish one since it's not dyed) but I've seen some people say yes & some say no way. So totally confused now! lol

Use wood shavings, kiln dried pine or aspen. Carefresh is dangerous if the chin eats it can swell up in their gut causing a blockage (requiring surgery). The biggest problem is you may not see the chin eating the carefresh litter, eating just a little, but over time it can build up and you end up with an emergency situation. There are people that use it still, not all chins eat it, but I just figure why risk it as most chins put anything into their mouths.

If you use fleece, why do you need litter as well? Surely the objective to using fleece is to do away with the need for litter.

I use fleece, but use care fresh in my litter pans. I've not had an issue, but for the one that eats everything I don't use it. She doesn't have a pan at all at this point since she won't use it anyways.

Thanks! I'll grab some wood shavings. My girls will nibble on anything lol.

They use litter pans to pee in. Keeps the fleece liners cleaner longer. Theyll occasionally pee outside of them but usually only when they've been extra crazy & moved the litter pans lol
