I had been using Carefresh for litter in my boys litter boxes. I know it's not ideal but it's been hard to find just regular pine or aspen shavings. At first all I could find was mixed wood shaving and didn't have a list of what kinds of woods. I finally found some pine...put it in their litter boxes today with a little of the soiled carefresh sprinkled on top. ZuZu promptly got in the litter and started eating. I told them it's not a buffet but he didn't seem to care. They weren't eating away...just taking a bite and jumpping off and then coming back a few minutes later and doing the same thing. Is this normal? Is there something else I should be doing? The boys do pretty good at using the litter boxes (at least they did before with the carefresh). Any suggestions would be great!

when i shooed meimei from eating his litter
he was persistent and so was i to the point he kinda chased me out and me ignoring him

anyhow
they probably think it's a new toy
they'll get over it

agreed. it's a new thing in their cage and they need to check it out, taste it. they'll most likely get over the newness of it pretty soon.
