Kesler the Richardson's Ground Squirrel

Just thought I would post pictures of Kesler. She's lost her tan-grey colouring and is now an agouti sort of color. She's doing fine, but I need to find a better cage, and I wish I could find her a companion.

She's still extremely nervous around me, but I am working on it.

She looks great. Too bad you live so far away, they were selling them at the animal expo I go to a couple times a month. They were asking $100, which I thought was a lot!

What an adorable squirrel! Is this considered a pet (domesticated) squirrel or did you rescue a wild squirrel? I remember reading something about an injury...do you have any idea how old he is? It's probably going to take quite a while to tame him, depending on his history, but with a lot of patience, I'm sure you can socialize him quite nicely. He looks like he would be a lot of fun!
