We just moved house and took a few precautions, like picking up her tube and putting her in the carrier. (Her tube is her safe space. There was no getting her out! lol) We put her in closets where it was quiet and dark while the movers were there. We didn't clean the fleece so it smelled like her.

We gave her a rose on Sunday and a rose hip last night. More treats than normal :). Mainly because we feel guilty.

Her poops weren't great the first day but are getting better.

The first day she seemed a little skittish but appears to be calming down. She tried to escape on Tuesday! What else can we do? The cage is closer to the couch now, so she's nearer. She was doing the little random hops and running around a little bit last night.

Moving is stressful for people! I can't imagine what it's like when you're so little! Any advice? I'd hate for her to get sick or stay stressed. She's eating and drinking well now.

It sounds as though you have tried to make the move as smooth as possible. I would just talk to her a lot, give her scritches and love. As long as she is eating and drinking she should be fine.

Maybe just keep her environment as quiet as possible, in an area of the house away from a lot of human traffic. And as already said, give her some extra tlc time, since she knows you and may feel safer around you in such a new environment.

When I brought home my 3 year old chinnie a few years ago, she settled into my chaotic household just fine. But as she didn't know me either, it took us a month or so to bond and to get her comfortable in her surroundings.

If she's eating and drinking, I'm sure she will be fine. :) I just moved mine recently (with far less coddling) and they were pretty much back to normal once I got them back into normal cages instead of the temporary ones they were in, in-between. Chins are far more resilient than we give them credit for.

I coddle her way too much! I know :)

I swear though, the tube thing worked so well. She gets in tube. I lift tube and put it in top loading carrier. If chinchilla won't come out of tube, tube moves.

And I'm sure that she loves you for it. =) I try with mine but when we need to go somewhere, we're going there whether we like it or not. lol

I would try that if any of my chins would go into a tube when I want them to. Thankfully we aren't moving again any time soon and I'm hoping next week is my last vet trip for a while.

Just a quickie update. It took her a few days to get back to normal but she is. No more little poops and as inquisitive as ever. I was a little worried since she hadn't put on any weight that week but got one last night.

525 grams. Up 10. She appears to be ok :)

Little chubby thing and she still has possibly another year to go!
