Theres not many chinchillas in my area so i have just never noticed. I have a great male named Percius and I have alwys assumed the two little "growths" around his hind legs are his testicals, however everyone on here talks about how to sex chinchillas. Is there just something wrong with my little guy?

You are most likely correct. Chins have the ability to retract their testicles though so sometimes they are really hard to see. They also vary in size from chin to chin.

So they should be located around the hind limbs around 2-2 1/2" apart?

Yup it sounds like testicles to me. Normally they will hide it inside. But if the temperate gets slightly warmer they will show it out.

I read from somewhere it is to cool themselves down. Anyway is it true?
