I was wondering if toilet training is possible for chinchillas.
What I mean by toilet training is training chinchillas to pee in one particular place within their cage (because obviously they poop uncontrollably and if there's someone who can tell me how to train chinchillas where to poop, please tell me ).
The reason why I'm asking this is because my white violet, Winnie, always always always pees in the same corner in his cage. When he's outside for his playtime, he never pees and he can hold it until he goes back inside his cage.
I also noticed from people's pictures of cages that use fleece liners, there's usually a litter pan & I'm assuming that's where the chinchillas pee. I'm thinking that changing his aspen bedding to fleece + a litter pan would be a good idea.
On the other hand, my standard grey, Tubby, pees everywhere!!! Anywhere in his cage, and when he's outside for his playtime, he pees on the carpet when he feels like it! I can't see changing his bedding to fleece, as that would be too much laundry for me.
