I want to start off by thanking you guys, y'all are a very helpful community.

So I'm chillin with shane falco and he's running on walls like the prince of persia, because he's a baller like that. My mom got me this new soap dispenser for me that's automatic. So the little dude jumps up onto my counter like it was no big deal and goes over to it to check it out. *vvvvvtt* and I'm thinking "game over", shane falco got some automatic soap dispensed on his back. I scrambled for a towl n did what I could do but there's still some wet fur on his back.

Is this bad? Should I be usin clipers n taking off the fur? I don't know if I should be freakin out...

One more thing... when he takes dust baths he keeps peeing in the dust >:O can I stop that? And when he's bathing he stops and looks out of the hole a lot. Is he too nervous to dust bath or is the flippy then look outside thing just his technique?

Thanks :D

Don't remove the fur. Try your best to dry it with a towel. I don't know how soaked or wet he got as their fur is very dense and sometimes hard to saturate. Just keep trying to dry out with a towel.

I doubt you can stop him from peeing in his dust bath. Mine all stick their heads out occassionally as well, they are cautious animals by nature and know being exposed could cause them harm so I believe he is just being cautious while enjoying his bath.

Just take a lightly damp towel and try to get the soap off. I would clip his fur or anything drastic. The dust baths will eventually get it off.
As for peeing in the dust bath just dont leave it in for too long but other than that there isnt much you can do

i would get a slightly damp washcloth and try and wipe his back. if there is soap in there you need to dilute it,even if you do this several times a day, it should eventually wash it out. they i would use a dry cloth to dry off. something soft & be gentle.

of course, remove the automatic soap thing next time before playtime (i love those things!)

as for peeing in the dust bath, only 1 or 2 of mine do that. i think when they gotta go, they gotta go......no stopping the course of nature. not sure how long you leave the dustbath out and how often you dust but normally its about 3 times per week for about 15 minutes each time. otherwise they just go in there and pee & poop. plus excessive dusting will dry out their skin, especially ears & feet.

Mine sticks her head out of her bath house all the time. She rolls a few times and then looks out at me. Usually I snap a picture of her at that time. :)

I would just put away the soap next time he is out for playtime.

If you get a wet towel you can remove that way so that the soap can be removed. You may need to do it a few times because soap is...well soapy right haha. But try not to get water on him where he doesnt need it. After thats done, give him a dust bath to ensure that his fur is as dry as possible. He should be ok though! ;)

Also, is he still pretty young? Because I know when Harley was about 3 months he would pee in the dustbath every time we had it out, and everywhere else for that matter... He might just be having trouble holding his little pee so its comes out hahah I wouldn't worry. Just make sure it's only 10 to 15 minutes each time.

Yeah hes only about 7 or 8 months old.

Thanks for the reply's everyone, ill be workin on dryin off that fur :D.

judging from some of the dust bath talk looks like i should switch up his routine a lil too :p good stuff :)
