I only ever had one male before and I don't ever remember seeing his boy parts, my new boy never seems to retract his testicles, I've checked him over days now. He doesn't seem bothered by it, he doesn't mess or check himself yet as far as I can tell.

He's around six months old, and I'm sorry for the poor picture quality, but he's still getting used to us, and he is jumpy and won't be still. I'm afraid to hold him down and flip him over until he's really comfortable with us since I'm worried he might take offense.

Is he normal?

Secondary Q: When he's in his cage and jumpy, he shakes his head and makes a hiccupy style movement before jumping straight up. His head shaking is hard and quick and looks like it might not be the best for his neck. Is this just his style?

Thank you so much for any help!!!!!

First question... as far as I can tell, he looks pretty normal - our boys look similar fairly often, and sometimes they're retracted. Others can confirm, but I'm pretty sure he's fine.

Second question... he's most likely popcorning - sounds like a happy, healthy boy!

ya your boy and my boy are exactly the same, thanks for posting this thread it really helped me.

I would be concerned if his testicles are always dropped, usually it's a sign that they are hot, not always, but in my experience it's not normal all of the time, either that or my boys are all just very modest. More often than not mine have theirs retracted.

mine are always dropped, so i wouldn't guess hes hot all the time. i keep his room at 60 or 65 so.

My chin Wibur's are almost always dropped. It's probably nothing to worry about.
