Is it normal for chins to sleeps laying down

Recently, my little stickshift has been sleeping or just relaxing while laying like a cat.He usually sleeps while sitting up on his four legs/sometimes two. Normally I thought when they lay on their sides or such it's because their hot & trying to cool down.


But I'm curious do they just do it just to sleep like that too?

chins sleep in all sorts of odd positions, lol. the switch to sleeping laying down as opposed to sitting up is most likely due to Stickshift becoming more comfortable in his environment - he doesn't feel the need to be 'on guard' and ready to wake up and run during naps any more.

yea i 1st worried about that too. but its amazing. My sleeps on the side, completely upside down if its soft enough. Its like scary but SOOO CUTE!! now i take it that they have different positions. lol actually sometimes they wanna stick their nose out 2. haha

The first time I saw my chin lying on her side, I thought she had died! But since that first time, she has slept that way a lot. But I've seen a lot of pics here of other's chins that sleep in some mighty funny positions.

LOL...I looked over at Trixie just before reading this, and that is exactly how she is sleeping right now.,,except she is on top of her house like that.

LOL, same here! Dragon runs around like crazy during his exercise hour and within literally three minutes of being back in his cage he is knocked out asleep on his side and I always have to check to be sure he is alive which he does not appreciate at all.

I wish I can buy another hammock for my little guy but he likes to chew on the hammock while sitting in it <___<

I'm afraid it's going to snap one day with him sitting inside in. ahaha

if he's chewing the hammock then you should remove it - ingesting the fleece can be dangerous for his digestive system.

I looked in on my chin yesterday and saw him sleeping sitting down 0.o Like a school kid siting in a chair lol.
With the fleece pillow and the angle i was at, i couldn't even see the lower half of his body. He looked like half a chin. 0.0
Even after 5 years they still manage to surprise lol. I guess Houdini was working on his illusion tricks.

I have some that lay down like that. I have one that will lay on her back legs straight up. One time I saw her on the shelf between the cage door and hay box laying like that eating.
