I'm a Newbie.

Hey, my name's Bekah and I'm 14. This is my first Chinchilla. I've had him for about 2 months. His name's Piper and he's a Black Velvet. We believe he's about 7 months old. He's a sweetheart and I love him to pieces. He's currently being kept in a large Ferret Nation Cage and is fed Oxbow. He loves his food and enjoys his hay and hay cubes. I plan on finding him a Pedigree female here very soon, and don't worry, I know about the no breeding Black Velvet to Black Velvet. I also have 5 cats, 3 dogs, and I use to own and breed high quality Crested Geckos. I'm excited to join this and to learn new things and see pictures of other people's Chins and their cages and things!

If you plan on breeding, take a good look through our breeding & babies section. There is a lot to know and you'll need lots of money saved in case of an emergency (unfortunately lots can go wrong in breeding- it's not just cute and fuzzy babies.)

I'll be posting some once I get home! I'm with my brother, watching him graduate from the Marines right now. I plan on getting another little boy instead. I don't want to take the chance of any complications with a female being pregnant. Plus, my boy doesn't have a pedigree, so I don't want to breed him not knowing his genes.
