My bigger boy is a very enthusiastic runner makes an aweful lot of noise when he is on the saucer. I can always tell it's him because he rattles the whole cage. Recently I've noticed the wires the saucer is attached to starting to bend and parts of my cage that used to be well fitted and secure are loose and rattling. I think my flying saucer is shaking my FN apart. The rattling is also keeping everyone in the house awake.

I've used pieces of fleece and elastic to pad the gaps that have developped at the tops of the door to reduce the rattling, but it's not helping much. I'm also worried the cage is going to break. Any tips on how to reinforce my cage as well as how to reduce the noise woudl be a great help.

Thank you in advanced.

Have you tried putting a block of wood under the mounting arm of the saucer (between the part that is parallel to the cage bottom and the cage bottom)? That cut out a lot of my cage shaking because it braced the wheel against the bottom instead of relying on the cage to absorb the lateral forces.

I have a piece of wood tucked under already and it helped when it was only my little guy, Tapioca. But Nougat is much heavier and the shaking is pretty bad. I also have metal trays on top and botton so that might be making it even louder.

I was hoping I won;t need to back that side of the cage with a piece of wood, but that might have to be done. I woudl hate to have one of the wires snap.
