I have taken him to the vet tonight. He was dehydrated with a low heart rate. His pupils were also just slits. The doc gave him fluids and a shot of anti-inflammatory in case of head injury, (hurt while playing is suspected). He is very lethargic and wont eat or drink yet.

I noticed something was wrong at about 4am. He was crying loudly in short spurts and got a touch wobbly a few times. He couldn't hop from the cage floor to the lowest pine shelf. He just fell and made a crying noise. If anyone has and info to help please share? Thank you!

2 month old sick baby chin. Help!

I made a post previously... He was treated at the vet for dehydration and was given an anti-inflammatory in case he hit his head, i wasn't sure. And he had a low heart rate. he was fine up until 4am yesterday morning. He started making high pitched crying and seemed wobbly at times and really lethargic.

He ate a few bites in the past few hours after the vet visit, but im still very concerned. I am taking him back to the vet as soon as they have an available appointment, but would still really like some advice. My vet isnt sure if she can even get her machines to test Chinchilla blood. So if anyone knows what his sickness could be besides being dehydrated, please message me! Thanks.

How old is the kit? Have you seen him drinking? Have you checked his water bottle to see if it is working ok?

Miguel is 2 months old. and his water bottle was giving him trouble, so even after i fixed it he gave up on it i think. he was very frustrated with it and told me so with body language. But today he is doing 80% better. I got him some flavorless pedialite and a med dropper to make sure this does not happen again. His doctor called me and said i was doing the right thing and that if hes not 100% better or not drinking on his own to bring him back in.

I tried calling you this morning to see how he was doing. So glad that he's better! I thought of him all day. Also, as mentioned yesterday if you need it, I do have critical care!
