I have a few questions about wood?

Is pine safe if you bake it and boil it like you would with apple wood, I always thought it had to be klin dried but I saw something that said its fine if you just did that too, also I saw something saying pinecones weren't safe? I have given them to my chins before and prepared them like any other wood would be prepared and my chins are fine, so are they really not safe? Also can you use wood that was sprayed if that was like twenty years ago? Thanks

I don't know the answers to your other questions, but I do know that you can not use wood that has EVER been sprayed. It actually stays inside the wood and can still be harmful.
