I got to bring home my female Quaker, after many delays. I was going crazy having to wait to bring her home! I am so not patient! But we got her mid afternoon and she has taken very quickly to me. She is at least 2 years old, and has a good vocabulary. She has said to me today: here kitty, kitty, kitty; very pretty; you're a pretty bird; you're funny...and she laughs when she says you're funny. She also makes kissing sounds and whistles. She loves to groom me, but has also left a few puncture wounds, lol. She also is a good eater, and eats her fruits and veggies. I have had her half a day and I'm already in love. Now I just have to convince her to love the rest of the family...I'm working on that!

I will post pictures tomorrow when I get the camera out. I just spent the day today enjoying her company. I'm like a little girl and Christmas and have been on cloud 9 all day!!! Just had to share :)

One time I was at the Bird shop, I paid for my items, took my keys off the counter and left. Out at the car I realized they weren't my keys, I go back in and explain to the clerk I had taken his keys accidentally. I just said that and their Parrot busted out laughing, it was so funny

everytime she laughs, I have to laugh! And the more I laugh, the more she laughs!

Sounds like a happy house. :)

The best parrot laugh I've experienced came one afternoon when my Ex's mom had her Ringnecks on a portable perch on the counter drying off. The Ex had to go brush his teeth or something, and bent over to rinse his mouth/face in the sink right in front of the male parrot, who proceeded to laugh in his face. The Ex was miffed, but his mother and I cracked up.
