Today at work I was interviewing a girl and I noticed on her application that she had volunteered at the Columbus Zoo for a number of years, so during the interview processes, I said "I just have to ask you something, since you volunteered at the Columbus Zoo, did you get to meet Jack Hanna?" She said "Yes! I have met him several times, we got to have lunch with him and I volunteered with his animals." OMG! I looooooooooooove Jack Hanna, I have since I was little! Is it wrong to hire this girl just because she can tell me Jack Hanna stories!? :innocent: How will I get any work done!? Man I am dork

If you're a dork, then I am too. :) I did a report on him in 4th grade and brought in my collection of stuffed exotic animals as part of my visual aid. :D

I wouldn't let it be the *whole* reason you hire her (not that you would), but that's why you're encouraged to put volunteer experiences etc. on your applications and resumes, to make yourself stand out from the crowd.

if I do hire her (not just because of the Jack Hanna thing) I will be sure to pass along her stories, since I am not the only Jack Hanna groupie :laugh2:

Who's Jack Hanna? lol

Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo in Ohio. He basically revolutionized the zoo singlehandedly, and was on the forefront of the international movement away from "concrete walls, metal bars" kinds of animal displays.

As a point of interest, he also kept a donkey in his dorm room at Ohio State during his undergrad. :D

You HAVE to hire her. How else are we going to get Jack Hanna stories?
