That's one way. I think some people also make them so they have a few inches that go over the sides too.

Measurements for pillowcase liner.
I just made the pillowcase type. You will need a piece of fabric that is 36.5 inches wide and about 60 inches long. I folded it in half and sewed a 5/8 of an inch seam 3/4 of the way around leaving the bottom end open to slide over the pan. This will leave you enough to be able to fold it under the pan.
