How to introduce two chins?

Hello, I have a question regarding on How to introduce two chinchillas?

I've had Gizmo for roughly 9 months and he is 11months old, He has never been with another chinchilla.
I bought Schnookie a few weeks ago an he is 3months old and has lived with another chinchilla so company doesn't freak him out. At the moment they live in separate cages.
I did do a mini introduction with them both letting them sniff each other and swapping bedding round etc they also had a mini playtime together with me sitting in between them both and that went well Till the next day I try'd again in the playpen to which Gizmo ripped Schnooks ear in half "thankfully it's all healed now"

I've bought a chinchilla show cage "the small cages" so I was thinking of putting Gizmo in the small cage and putting that within Schnookie's cage so Gizmo can sniff yet not attack. What else could I do to bring Gizmo round to liking Schnookie?

One day I would like them to share one cage and have a fun playing together though even if Gizmo doesn't warm to the idea it's still ok with me.

So any ideas to what else I could do?

Put Vick's vapor on their noses during the next supervised playtime. It makes it so they cannot smell each other...almost like they're meeting a new chinchilla. Good luck! My girls never did get along though so sad :-(
