How to get tree sap out of dogs fur?

Anyone know a quick and easy way to get tree sap out of an 11 week old puppies hair?

He has it in several different spots. Hips, legs, top of the foot, neck, back, head, etc....
It's from a Pine tree if that helps.

Something oily like peanut butter or vegetable oil will do it. Follow up with dawn and them a good conditioning shampoo.

if the oily stuff doesnt work you might have to trim the furr. itll look stupid for a while but itll be out.
i had a cat that was half covered in sap once . there was just so much that the oil and peanut butter couldnt get it out so i took out the scissors and started snipping. the cat looked horrible for a a while but at least he wasnt sticky and he didnt get pieces of paper and toys stuck to him anymore.

i say just snip it out if puppy will sit still enough. a lot less hassle than trying to use pb or oil and then having to wash it out after.
