How old do kits have to be for shelves ?

Wasn't sure if this should be under housing or breeding and babies , but i was wondering what age the kits have to be in order to put shelves in. They are 5 weeks today and they are climbing all over the bars of the cage now.

You could put a low ledge or shelve in there, it's better for them to have a ledge than to climb up the cage and fall, I wouldn't go crazy with ledges and shelves though, just a couple to start with.
