Originally Sandi planned on coming up and spending the day with me. As it got closer to the date I knew I didn't want to get out of bed that day or get dressed. So I told her not to come. I'm glad I did! I found out she had a horrible fall on Monday and hurt herself pretty bad---she didn't even say anything and was going to drive for 2 hours there in back in horrid traffic with a bad back just to be with me. Instead we talked on the phone, she told me she loved me and I told her Nel had called and had Asean over and so I did get out of bed and dragged my butt over to see Nel and Asean and hold a part of Lisa in my arms.

He is doing well! He gained a whole pound since I say him last so he is just over 6lbs now. He's quite the little peanut. Lynelle is braver than I am and she holds him standing up! I am a baby holder sitting down only lol!

Here are some pics of Lynelle and I with Asean. While I'm not in my pajamas I have no makeup on and most likely bedhead!

Lisa's boyfriend Keith was there when I got there, he stopped by to spend some time in her garden and he brought flowers and suet and seed for the bird feeders. It was nice to see him again.

Looks like a really sweet way to spend the day.
Babies are a great reminder of all the great things yet to happen.

Aw Laurie, what a perfect little man he is. I'm glad you and Lynelle spent time with Lisa's grandson. I'm sure she was feeling all of you too. I would have come up no matter what if you wanted me too.

I know this might be inappropriate but what are his parents ethnicity? He has such a pretty color of skin!

Glad you got out of bed. Sometimes the best thing for us to do is what is the harder of the choices... like eating fruit with chocolate on it, instead of chocolate with fruit on it...

Nicole, I have no qualms with your question. Asean ( his name is pronouned ah-shawn ) his mother, Monya is black, his father Todd--Lisa's oldest son is white. They tried to say he looks like Todd. He certainly does not! When Todd was a baby he had no neck! His cheeks rested on his shoulders he was such a fattie!

I know some people can be sensitive about such a question, glad to know you're not! I love his pretty skin color, he looks like a good baby... so far. They're all good until they start walking away and talking back! :p

Laurie, were you scared of baby puke? What's up with the towel? :neener:

On a serious note though, I'm glad you were able to spend the day remembering Lisa in such a good way. Asean is soooo cute and you look great!

When I was little the neighbor girl (about 5-ish) asked my mom "what kind of kids are yours?" lol.. because seemed like then there weren't many hispanic kids around our area lol..

I'm glad you spent the day with a happy baby :)
