I just got two chinchilla a few days ago from a rescue and I am wondering the safest way to keep them cool. I have a fan in the room to circulate the air, and I am wondering if this is enough for him. Will an ice pack be good for them? Please put your personal methods below.

Thank you! :)

First, since this isn't an emergency, I moved it to a more appropriate forum.

Second, the only way to keep a chinchilla safely cool is an air conditioner. No one will post other methods, because that's pretty much it. A fan does nothing to cool them. Chinchilla's don't sweat, so they have no fluids on their body to cool off with the breeze from a fan. Ice packs will get them wet, which can lead to fungus and respiratory issues. Temporary cooling can be "helped" with ceramic tiles in the freezer then put in the cage - in the case of an emergency when your air conditioning breaks and you have to get them cooled off quickly.

Bottom line - air conditioning is the only way to keep chinchillas comfortable and safe.
