How do I change my user name?

Ok, at one time we had seven children in the house. Three are now married, two are over 18 and still living at home and one quiet 12 year old. So what I am saying is that my user name no longer fits. I am no longer the woman who lived in a shoe with to many children. Short of setting up a new account is there a way to change my user name?

Oh and one passed away, so that makes 7. Well actually another passed away but that was over 23 years ago. So 8 children all together.

I think you can ask the Admin to do it for you, but you have to put "Formerly known as (your old user name here)" to avoid confusion. Also, it's harder to escape from a bad reputation (if you had one)!!!

That isn't the reason for the change, the user name no longer is accurate and I want would just prefer a different one, even if it is my own name.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that is not reason enough to change your user name.

Lol, ok, how about the reason is that I don't like it anymore? It is a username that I picked during a time in my life when I was overwhelmed with being a mother and a stepmother. It isn't like I am being secretive about it and setting up another account, I am being open and honest and just want to change it, nothing else. I would prefer to just have my own name, Caroline, it is me, I like my name and I am not hiding behind anything. Does it really need to be such a big deal?

there is another member here that was able to change their user name because they acquired a 4th chin and their screen name didn't reflect their chin count any more. so i don't see why changing your user name would be any different.

You were told early in the thread to contact an admin about a name change. As far as I know, that hasn't been done.

No, it hasn't. I was at church this afternoon, came home, fed my family (what's left of it. :hmm: ), took care of chins, chickens and now horses. At some point I will. It isn't a life threatening situation.

Wow, did some reflecting on the why of my feelings and it hit me. In the past 4.5 years I have gone from 4 in school to only one starting 7th grade on Tuesday. In less than 1.5 years I have gone from 5 kids at home to 3 married and one moving back to Canada. My second youngest turned 18 and my baby girl towering over me by 3 inches. A lot for this Mama to handle.
