Hi guys! I was just wondering if chins can hold their pee and go potty in a designated spot? I used to have a ferret years ago, and the first thing he would do when he woke up, is pee, no matter where in the house he was.

I have a litter pan in Tink's cage and I know that when she is in her cage, she uses it. But she has a pen attached to her cage and is allowed to come and go as she pleases out of the cage and into the pen. In her pen is a big maze that she likes to sleep in a lot. I have noticed that she has peed on the floor when in the maze.

I realize chins really can't be potty trained, but she does use her pan in the cage...so, do chins wake up and immediately need to pee? I suppose I could put an extra litter pan close to her maze...

I have seen one of my chins, Smudge, wake up, go all the way down to his litter pan to pee, and go back to sleep numerous times. He's the only one I've seen do it, though. Most of my other chins pee in their potty pan sometimes, and everywhere else other times.

Only Zucca pees 95% of the time in his litter pans. Richie pees anywhere and everywhere. Stitch pees in his litter box sometimes and on the fleece liner on the bottom of his cage, but rarely anywhere else.

Rosey and Poppy only pee in their chosen corners. Jasmine goes anywhere and everywhere....including on me when she feels the need...

Bryson will run from the top of the cage to his pee pan.

Ande will just pee anywhere. He's getting closer and closer to the pan, though. He will now back his butt up right next to the pan. If only he would move about an inch, we would have it made.

I have 4 chins and I've never been peed on. I'm sure when they are having playtime they pee in the house but they always pee in their hay filled litterbox when in the cage.

I have never been peed on but my husband has. Buddy has this "bed" that is basically the only place he pees even when he is out of his cage. I think the only reason he peed on my husband is because he didn't get his bath or cage change while I was gone. His pee bed was also pretty gross and needed to be washed.
