Hey my name is Taylor, I'm from Alabama (ROLL TIDE.) I just turned 18 and guess what my big present was?! A chinchilla! His name is Gizmo and I'm unaware of how old he is, but I know he is not full grown yet. He is a standard grey color and is nervous right now but I'm hoping that in time, we will be best friends. He lives in a 3 story cage, complete with a hiding tunnel, hammock, salt cube (for biting), a ball, and of course food and water. His cage sits in a tile hall way with multiple vents, where it stays around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. His diet consists of a lot of timothy hay, and healthy select pellets. I lined his cage with a plastic liner and spread recycled paper pellets on top. So far, I haven't had any problems except he keeps barking when he's around me. If anyone has any feedback or comments that would help me bond with my sweet baby better, please don't hesitate to post, ask, etc. Thanks!!

:welcome4: Hi Taylor. Welcome to CnH. I would keep all plastic away from him. It will make him sick. He will chew anything he comes into contact with. Just be patient and sit by him and talk. Slowly put your hand in the cage. Before long he'll be jumping on it. We'd love to see his picture.
