Hi, well i'm new here and after reading threads the past two hours i said i would join up. What a site ye have here, it is full of information and found things i could not find anywhere else.

I bought two Chinchillas both female 14th July of this year. Got a pretty standard cage with them but have started looking for ideas to build a new one for them. Got a nice surprise Sept 11th, the standard colour one i have had 3 babies (was pregnant when i got her) She had 3 babies but one died sadly. Other 2 are thriving now! Both going to new home in couple of weeks and i am getting a white one then to add to the two i already have.

Right thats enough blabbing from me - see ye around the forums

Welcome to CnH!

You may want to check the chin that didn't have the babies to make sure that she is not in fact a he. That could very well be a possibility! Chins are mis-sexed quite commonly and many people bring home chins thinking they are the same ***, but are surprised with babies.

If you can't figure out if she is a he, you may want to take a picture and post it here on the forums. Don't worry, we're used to pictures of private parts and poop ;)

Thanks for the welcomes!

Yeah they are both females (i think). Mammy was pregnant before i got her if you check the dates i posted she was roughly half way through pregnancy? But sure i'll take a pic and just to be sure, sure! Thanks :D

Welcome! WE're glad you joined.

Be sure to look up Skippy on here. She's on your beautiful Island as well. :)

Welcome to the forum. Lots and lots to learn. I've lived with chins for 6 1/2 years and still learn new things! :)
