I picked my chin up for the first time today. I took him out of his cage to give him his dust bath. when he got into his bath, he rolled around once then jumped out and now will not come anywhere near me. he runs everytime i move. now what?

So he's out running around the house? Put the dustbath down near you, then I make a little cover with a towel or pillowcase because mine would see me approach and run away. Quietly and quickly swoop down and trap him when he's in the dustbath. If needed I have "trapped them"down the hallway with all the doors shut and drag a sheet spread out to trap the bad lol chinny

If you need to get the chin in the cage quickly, if you can corner them and then throw a hand towel over them, they can't see you and then you can scoop them up. I've done this when having to catch a chin that won't be caught.
