So I recently noticed that one of my chin's toes was red & losing hair
Assuming it would just get better on its own, I gave it a few days before contacting a doctor (being a broke college student and all)
However, his toe seemed to be getting worse, so I scheduled a vet appointment. (this was my first time seeing this vet)
The vet told me that it seemed like an infection and prescribed Chewy with some antibiotics along with a topical cream.
I followed her instructions, it's been 6 days and his toe seems to be getting worse
I'm considering seeing a different vet, but since money is an issue for me, I wanted to see if anyone else had any similar experiences or any advice as to what I should do?

He seems to be acting healthy though, running around the same, etc.

Did you call the first vet back yet? antibiotics should have had effect by now. Every vet is different but the good ones wont charge you a second time to come in and have a treatment changed. Id call em up and see if they wont just switch the med or reexamine it at no extra cost.

Youch! Could it be a fungal infection and not bacterial? Did the vet take scrapings or swabs to culture? Cultures will probably need to be done to ensure the right antibiotic is being used.
He's definitely going to need a follow up appointment. Hope the poor guy gets better soon xxxxx
