Hey, I'm Muffin I have two standard chinchins, Otto and Pandora, who are currently busy having a baby after only meeting eachother about 2 weeks ago. I have a lot of experience with animals as I grew up on a farm in Romania which was pretty fun considering that we had 60 cows and hundreads of sheep and goats and horses and so on. Uh god this is starting to sound like the coverletter I use to apply to petshops but yeah I bred hampsters and siamese (betta) fighting fish and had cats and guinea pigs and frogs and snakes and uh I don't know I currently have three fish, two stickbugs and their many eggs waiting to hatch and my two lovely chinchillas. Otto has been with me since he was ridiculously young, about 6 weeks old when some lady decided she is sick of him so I took him in custody. he considers me his mummy since then and spends his afternoons in my hoodie. We are still in denial about the fact that he is too big to be there anymore. He started humping everything at the age of 8 months and now as he reached his 1 year anniversary, and total sexual maturity I have decided to get hima little female as I always love babies and well, why not. Pandora is 2 years old and her family didn't have any more time for her so I took her in. She has had babies in the past so she is an experienced mother and I hope that together, in our happy threesome we will deliver awesome babies that will be as friendly and loveable as them. Enough said?

Do you know the Chinchilla's (Both of them) history? Do they have any health issues in their pasts (meaning with their parents, grandparents, etc)? What colors do you have?
Pictures? =)

Welcome to Cnh! Make sure you do a LOT of reading on breeding and dont be afraid to ask questions!

Welcome to CnH! :))

I agree, I'd read up on breeding chins while you're waiting for the babies to come. There can be complications and it's better to be prepared.

Welcome! I'm just south of you, just across the border. Glad to have you here. If you have any questions, we would love to try and help.

welcome to our forum and our family. wow you have quite a farm going. I agree you should read the breeding and babies section.:welcomewagon:

Welcome to CnH. Take a read through the Breeding and Baby section. There's a lot to consider before breeding, i.e., quality of the chin, his pedigree (knowing whether or there are health issues like malocclusion or fur chewing in his lines), risk to the female. It's always best to go into it with eyes wide open so there are less surprises. Here are a few threads you should check out too:

After you read through that stuff, please feel free to ask lots of questions and we'll help out as best we can. :)
