Hello all,

I’m no stranger to animals and pets, animals are my life…but, I am new to chinchillas. I’ll be picking up my first pair of boys tonight (I leave in an hour, I’m so excited!). I belong to a few dog breed forums and have found them to be extremely helpful and supportive, so I figured I may as well find one for chins  I recently joined another forum, only to realize it is based overseas…which is fine, but its nice to talk to people in the area, too.

Anyways, thanks for having me, and I’ll probably be perusing the old threads and asking some questions very soon. Any first-time-owner advice is welcome!

Diana <-- mom to:
Rowan (Australian Cattle Dog)
Luka (Italian Greyhound)
Orion (Maine Coon Cat)
Gizmo & Roo (standard grey chins)

Fan of Dave Matthews huh?? Welcome to the forum! How wonderful to be getting your chinnies today!! Congrats!

Welcome to CnH! :))

What area of WI are you in? I'm over by Green Bay. Always great to see another Wisconsinite with chins!

And congrats on your first chins!

 Hello & welcome to CnH :)

I see you joined CU - you'll find some interesting differences between UK and US chinchilla forums which makes for some good discussions at times. ;)

Thanks everyone! I just LOVE my little guys, they are so awesome! They have such unique personalities (which is good, because I still can't tell them apart otherwise!) Gizmo is outgoing and bold. Roo is a little more cautious and reserved, but he's raring to go once he warms up!

Chub_Chub: I live and breathe Dave Matthews ;)

alli713: I live in the Appleton area! I've seen a few people from WI on here already, that's exciting!

Here's some pics of my boys!

I live in wisconsin too! Madison area though, it is cool though to see that I'm not the only Badger, or packer, whichever fan on here!

Hi there and welcome! You have caught the chin bug and be careful as they can become overwhelmingly addictive. I can't see their pics for some reason, but I'm sure they are adorable. Have fun with your new babies.

Welcome, fellow Wisconsinite! I hope you'll consider coming down to the WI MCBA seminar in April. They are an awesome learning opportunity: my first one taught me the basics of grooming (still working on perfecting that!) and so much about nutrition, water, etc. AND it fun to see everyone's chins & socialize! :dance3:

Ooooh that sounds interesting, keep me posted on when/where!

Its held in Barneveld, west of Madison, where we have our fall show also. Its April 17, and more details will be posted in the Shows section of this forum as we get closer to the event. :)

Hope to see you and many others there!! Good chance to buy & sell supplies & sometimes chinnies (because we all seem to need just one more, right?!)
