Hey, everyone My name is Megan & I currently have a female Mosaic, well I pick her up on June 5. I'm from a small town in northern West Virginia & I have had chinchillas for about 11 years now. I absoutly love them. I recently had to put my 10 year old chinchilla to sleep due to malocclusion. Which is why I decided to get another chin. They are hands down the best pets I've ever had! So cute, fun, easy to clean up after, & did I mention Cute! In my spare time I make super cute hammocks for chins & hedgies :) .

Hi and welcome! So sorry to hear you had to put down your chin recently. That is always a tough decision to make. But I'm sure you are excited for another chin, and we would love to see pics when you bring her home!

It was a tough decision but I knew that she lived a very happy and great life. I was okay with letting her go. & I am SUPER excited for my new chin! I've always had standards so this mosaic is something different but its a good thing. I've always loved them! i'll post a picture of her when I played with her at the breeders a week ago. She wouldnt sit still at all. 10 days til I bring her home for good :) I'm hoping she picks her name when I bring her home, but if anyone has any cute unique suggestions feel free to send some my way.

Welcome to the forum! You have an adorable little chin!!!

Thank you everyone for the welcome's & compliments on the new addition. Only 3 more days til I get to bring her home. The anticipation is killing me. I'm so excited to have her and decide on a name!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I picked up my little one yesterday afternoon & I couldn't have been happier! She is a handful & a cutie. I decided to name her Karleigh & she is already quite the character. Will post pics soon!

Welcome to the forum! It's interesting to have a mosaic and watch their coloring change as they get older.

The breeder told me about her color changing as she got older. I was shocked when I picked her up with how much she changed. She has a white spot on her side that kind of looks like a set of lips. I'll post pics, excuse the cage, its a temporary one so dont mind the plastic. I was intending on getting a new cage but hoping to wait like a week, well last night I was playing with her and she showed me that she knows how to squeeze through the bars and get out. So this evening I will be going to buy a ferret Nation cage & I hope that she cant squeeze through the verticle bars.
