Hi,
I used to be a member of chins-n-quills.
I had registered there year ago when I got my first chinchilla .
I used to live in Los Angeles , then january 2008 I relocated to Wales where my boyfriend is from .
I am actually French so I am not far from "home"

We have one 10 year old Yorkshire terrier Scoobie, and 4 chinchilla girls
Squiddie, Gromit, Princess , and Pumkin!

We had all our pets when we lived in LA where we lived for 15 years, and we relocated with all of them of course!
(We got our first chin in 2004.)
The relocating of the chins was a nightmare, paperwork and procedure wise, but there was no way I was leaving them behind....

they are now happy in Wales where the temperatures are ideal for them (not for us...weather stinks here for us...hahahaha)
:bump1:

Wow, thank you everyone!!!

I am posting Squiddie who is our only black one, and Pumkin who is a standard, and in my opinion a human in a chin's body!!!! hahahaha
I'm sure a lot of you feel that way sometimes!
Our Pumkin is too smart for her own good! ;)

Welcome! The pictures are so adorable. They are very spoiled. Warmed my heart reading all the trouble you went through to bring them with you when you moved.

thank you all for the welcoming comments!
You have no idea how incredibly difficult it was to get them back here to Europe.
I had to deal with idiots who said I could not have them fly because chinchillas were an endangered species......I had to prove to them that they were domestic pets, not wild chinchillas I had picked up in a mountain!!!!!

I even was willing to pay those companies that do everything for you , paperwork and all...for a small fortune.
Not one of them could help me!
It was unbelievable.
But I finally managed, after calling all over Europe, Belgium where the animal protection act was writen, etc.....
I got it done, and then I still had to deal with the cargo company which was a joke.
They nearly didnt leave that day.
That's a whole other story.....

I was honestly prepared to lose one chin at least on the way.
I didn't sleep all night, waiting for the phone call that they were ok.
My boyfriend, their daddy, was waiting for them in Paris , hoping to see all 4 of them alive but scared to death one of them might have not made it!
But they were absolutely fine.
He said they looked tired (jetlagged!!!) but that when he let them out to play later one, you never would have known they had been through hell!

I think they are more robust than we thought they were.
And from Paris airport they went on a train and then a ferry with my boyfriend and my brother.
Then they got in the car and got to Wales!
International chins!

If my chins are ever grumpy, I remind them of how lucky they are to be with here at all!!! hahahahahahaha guilt trip for life! :wink2:
