Hi Everyone!!

I am a new member and new chin owner from South Africa!! I've had my little Chin Felix for two weeks today! :)

Looking forward to meeting and chatting to everyone!!

I am still not sure what Felix is...his dad is a VERY dark Ebony and his mom is a lovely dark brown Velvet...I believe Felix to be a light/medium tan. He's still young though, so waiting to see how he develops! But I would descrbie his colour as more grey than brown...

Welcome to CnH! It's exciting to see someone from South Africa amongst our members. I don't believe the old forum (CnQ) had anyone from your neck of the woods before.

We'll have to get your flag fixed so that it works! Right now our flag fixer is half dead with sinus/summer flu, so it may take a few days, but we'll get there.

Again - Welcome! :)

Welcome to CnH!! You'll learn alot and make a bunch of friends here!

Hello, how great to have you here! Such a cute chinnie I look forward to hearing stories about keeping chins in other countries, that always interested me. Congrats on the new addition as well, where did you buy him?

What color is his belly? If it is not white he is a light tan, and a doll!

Welcome to CnH. Enjoy the forum. I have some in-laws that just flew on June 13th to South Africa.

Can't even imagine the heat and humidity dowm there - keep your brown velvet[maybe tov tan - can't see tummy] boy cool!
Congrats on being a new owner, and WELCOME - you'll get a lot of answers here!!

WOW! So many responses to quickly!!

Oh shame! I can totally relate!!! I have flu too...but its winter flu! lol

Umm..I am not really sure about his belly, it is not what I consider white...its more like a slightly lighter grey than his sides are. But not white-white...

you think he is a TOV? He was sold to me as a possible Velvet/TOV (still not sure of the difference...lol). He has a face mask and appears to be getting stripes on his front legs and he DEFINITELY has darker patches on his back legs...lol

These are Felix's Folks...

Zorro - The ebony Male
Coco - Brown Velvet female

Both are from chinchilla.com

Does not look tov to me, although beiges can be very tricky and turn out tov/velvet (it is the same thing) later in life. He does not have the face mask though, and is pretty light. I would guess a light tan or even a beige. Such a cutie!

Hello and welcome to the forum! South Africa, wow, I've been to the northern part of Africa (Tangiers) but my daughter's dream is to someday go to a real safari. Your Felix is a cutie.

Hello Meg! I often speak to support for my company from South Africa so nice to have you hear! Whenever I talk to Murkesh he ALWAYS says it's hot, hot, HOT! I live in Wisconsin in the states and we are very often not so hot! Your Felix is very cute! I hope to see more pics of him in the future and hear of his many exploits!

Reason I said tov is I've had beiges turn tov after a few months, and in the picture, it seems the head is darker, as mine were - we'll see!

:welcomewagon:
Hi and welcome to CnQ. Felix is adorable, I love little tiny chinny hind feet, you hardly ever see them. I look forward to your posts and pictures. Theresa
