Hi, I am brand new to the world of chinchillas, as I am getting my very first one! My name is Meaghan and I located in Philadelphia. Any tips on good places to get supplies locally or just tips in general would be great!

Welcome Meaghan. :)

I can't help you with local supplies, but there are quite a few suppliers listed in the classifieds section that can help you out if you can't find what you need.

Hi! There a few breeders in NJ who might be easier for you to get too, such as FurryAnimalsOhMy! I'm pretty sure those guys carry basic supplies (dust/feed). As far as treats and cage things, online is the best option!

Hi Meaghan, and welcome! Your first chin, how exciting! Congratulations! They are such a wonderful addition and may become addictive!

welcome to chinnie land!!

i am nearby in jersey and i buy most of my supplies from members of this group! There are people who sell cage accessories and toys and treats and wood and food and everything!! my basic supplies i get from a feed store, like food & bedding , but i have more than one so it is more cost effective.

Hello and :welcome6: to the forum! I agree with Jenn, chins are addictive!

WELCOME - I agree with most here Online is one of the best places to get supplies. You probably don't have a 'feed store' in the Philly area. A feed store is a store that sells supplies for horse/cow/lamb and such people. Usually they are the cheapest place to get things like hay and pine shavings
